A panda bear walks into a restaurant. He orders the special food and eats it. After eating, he pulls out a pistol, kills the waiter and starts to walk out the door. The owner of the restaurant says,” Hey, what are you doing? You come in here;you killed my waiter and you are walking without saying a word. I don’t understand.” The panda says, “Look it up in the dictionary.” and walks out the door. So the owner gets out a dictionary and looks under the heading “Panda”. It reads:
Panda: black and white animal;lives in central China; eats shoots and leaves.
Chari dai, 26, who has honed his skill in mimicking 175 birds, had nothing to chirp about on Thursday. Once again, his request to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for assistance in getting his name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records went unheard. The only glimmer of hope he has for enlisting now, is by sending a reapplication.
“They asked me to write an application again. This will be the third time,” said Sapkota. “Every time I return with only consolations and hope for a better next time.”
Sapkota’s distress was conspicuous when he said, “To my utter surprise, I was told that my previous applications had been discarded without even reaching the concerned officials.” And this time again, he has to remain optimistic as officials have already told him that it would take half a decade or so to process his application.
Now, this has prompted Sapkota to come up with a unique form of protest. “If the government fails to provide any assistance, I will protest in front of the Singhadurbar gate.” His plan: he will stand in front of the Singhadurbar with a black flag and beckon hundreds of crows at the premises. Sapkota aims to put this form of protest on display on the day of ‘Crow Tihar’, the day when Hindu devotees pray to crows, prior to the Tihar festival.
And if this does not work, he has yet another idea up his sleeve. “I will summon thousands of crows at the airport and obstruct the international flights.” He says that this will at least help him get attention he needs from the people.
Gautam registered his name for the Guinness on July 12, 2008. But, poverty coupled with government apathy has left him in the middle of nowhere.

Flag of Nepal
The UCPN (Maoist) and two other parties(Rastriya Janamorcha and Dalit Janajati Party) on Wednesday proposed to change the country’s national flag. The present triangular flag with the sun and moon is based on the principles of monarchy, so the new constitution should give a new national flag to the country, they argued. They said, “Nepali national flag should depict inclusiveness and proportional representation. The new flag ought to symbolize the number of federal units that will be determined by the new statute”.
In other hand, the UML lawmaker argue that,” Our national flag is unique, It has its own identity and recognition”. We can’t make a new Nepal by changing the flag. The meaning of those symbols is that the country will remain eternal till there is the sun and the moon, he said.
This is our national flag and it is unique and it has its own identity.
So, then what to do with the flag argument? Is this the right thing to do or not?

On the first day, called Ghatasthapa
na, the “Dashain Ghar”, or special worship room, is set up—this room is used to worship the Astha-Matrikas (the 8 tantrik goddesses) as well as the Nava Durgas (the 9 durga goddesses), to whom the festival is consecrated.[1] Married women will say the mantras for the next fifteen days, and guard the goddesses. Barley is sowed on big earthern pots which have a coating of cow dung. These seeds will sprout in ten days. The sprouts, which symbolize a good harvest, will be decoratively placed on the heads of family members later on in the festival as a blessing.Eighth day, Asthami, is the day of sacrifices, oats and buffaloes to ducks and chickens are sacrificed.
On the tenth day, “Dashami,” a mixture of rice, yogurt and vermillion. This preparation is known as “tika”. Elders put this on the forehead of younger relatives to bless them with fertility and abundance in the upcoming year. The red also symbolizes the blood that ties the family together. Elders will give “dakshina”, or a small amount of money, to younger relatives at this time. The tika continues for five days, during which time people also gather to play cards around massive amounts of food and drink.
In several parts of Nepal, Dashain is the only time of the year when people receive a set of new clothing. Likewise, in poorer families, the animal sacrifice was eagerly anticipated since it might be the only animal protein the family would eat all year. This may be true in certain parts of Nepal where food is in low supply, but is less so in the cities.

Yarsha Gumba
Yarsagumba or Yarchagumbu is an exceptional and incredible herb that grows in the pastures above 3,300 meters upto 4000 meters in the Himalayan regions of Nepal , Bhutan, India and Tibet. Yarsagumba literally means summer plant and winter insect (dong cong xia cao) in Tibetan. In India it is usually known as ‘Kira Jhar’ which means Insect Plant . Scientific name of this herb is ‘Cordyceps Sinensis’.
Yarsagumba is a exceptional combination of a yellow caterpillar and a mushroom (fungus). Just earlier to the rainy season, spores of cordyceps fungus infect these Himalayan caterpillars that live on moist grass and hollow soil. After the fungus buries itself in the caterpillar’s body, it works its way out through the insect’s head. The parasite gets the energy from the caterpillar. The fungus parasite gets so much into the body of the caterpillars’ that it drains all the energy from the insect and ultimately it dies. As temperature increases and the snow melts -yarsa gumba emerges and is collected at this time. During monsoon, the yarsa gumba is swept away.
Researches has revealed that the body of Yarsagumba contains:- Cordycepin acid, Cordycepin, D-mannitol, Polysaccharide, SOD, Fatty Acid, Nucleocide Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12, Serien, Zinc, Copper, Carbohydrates etc. Cardycepin and Cordycepic acid have been found to be the main constituents.
Yarsagumba is also known as the “Himalayan Viagra” or “Himalayan Gold” for its high medicinal and commercial value. It is mainly used as a treatment for impotency in many countries. Numerous scientific studies and research reveals that it has properties of antibiotic in it. Cordycep sinensis is used for lung and respiratory infection, pain, sciatica and backache. It also provides vitality and increases physical stamina of the body. Yarsa gumba is used by the Chinese to cure chronic hepatitis B and immune function such as dysfunctioning of liver. According to the Hawaiian health products, cordyceptin is found effective against tuberculosis as well as in the treatment of leprosy. Another major use of this is in the treatment of leukemia. It is useful for children, adults, the aged and the sick people. It energizes lung, kidney and liver; improves memory and purified blood; keeps a person physically and mentally sound. It is of great importance for men and women of any age group, players, people working in physical stress, suffering from premature ejaculation and sexually inactive ones. This 120m bridge adjoined the Gorkha and Tanahun District located in Aanboo Khaireni which is in peril for a long time. But the concerned authorities or local government officials have no eye to see it. This was made by the Japanese Engineers some two and half decades ago and its expiry date was only 15 or more years but our government is in no intention of building next bridge or rebuilding it. Thanks to the Maoist, that they had exploded it in insurgency time by making a big hole in it. When will the concerned authorities rebuild, we will have to see.

The Concert have been organised for an anti-trafficking campaign sponsored by MTV.
Now, Australian Popstar Kate Miller-Heidke and Nepali pop icon as well as Coke’s poster boy Nima Rumba will join local stars Kranti Ale and Nalina Chitrakar for the campaign that kicks off with a concert in Pokhara Sep 12, the second in a series of free “MTV EXIT Live in Nepal” concerts, said a statement by the American embassy here.
The concerts will be held in Pokhara, Dharan and Hetauda. Former Miss Nepal and popular MC Malvika Subba will host the Kathmandu concert.
Subba, the MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) campaign’s ambassador in Nepal, had also lent her voice to the MTV documentary “Sold”, the heart-wrenching tale of three teens from South Asia who are sold into prostitution and slavery.
Former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta is the narrator in the English and Hindi versions of the documentary.
The MTV EXIT campaign extends across all of Asia and is produced by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and MTV. Two prominent anti-trafficking organisations in Nepal – Maiti Nepal and ABC Nepal – will provide information at the concerts on how to combat human trafficking.
“I’m incredibly proud to perform at this important concert,” Sunidhi said. “I hope that through my music and involvement in the MTV EXIT campaign millions of people will learn about this tragic form of slavery.”
Kevin Rushing, USAID-Nepal’s Mission Director, feels that the lack of awareness obstructed the campaign.
“Efforts to stop human trafficking have been hampered by the public’s lack of awareness about the severity of the problem. Victims of trafficking are often young men and women – MTV’s demographic – who are guilty of only wanting a better life. USAID is excited to fund this effort with MTV, in part because of their unique ability to reach millions – and prevent Nepalis from becoming victims.”
NGOs in Nepal estimate that as many as 15,000 Nepali women and girls are trafficked to India annually while 7,500 children are traded domestically for commercial sexual exploitation.
In addition, an estimated 20,000-25,000 Nepali girls become involuntary domestic workers each year within Nepal, according to the US Department of State’s 2009 “Trafficking in Persons Report.”
